Sofia, April 2023
I wasn't sure what to expect from my first time in Bulgaria, but I really loved walking around the center of Sofia. Before going, I didn't know much more about it other than the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, but I really enjoyed being able to explore a new city that I didn't know much about. We stayed right by t he main shopping street, Vitosha Boulevard, which was full of cafes and restaurants, with a beautiful view of the mountains in the background. The weather was beautiful while we were there but unfortunately the same couldn't be said up in the mountains - There'd been loads of unexpected snowfall which meant the day trip we had originally planned to do while we were there was cancelled. Although that was a shame, it meant we had extra time to explore some of the local areas and parks that we probably wouldn't have been able to do otherwise.
